To help evaluate if a solar system is right for your commercial property a preliminary assessment would need to be done. This assessment would figure if the access to direct sunlight would be adequate, what size system you would need, permit and code issues that need to be reviewed, and of course, will the investment be right for you. We recommend the GAF DecoTech Solar panel system because it is made by a major roofing manufacturer that knows and understands roofing. GAF designed the DecoTech system to be integrated right into the roof system. No ugly brackets or screws penetrating the roof system.
If you are looking to get some extra attic exhaust without running any electric we offer the GAF Green Machine high power solar operated exhaust vent. The vent is rated at 750 CFM on solar power. There is an option to have dual power source so on cloudy days or at night it runs on electric and runs at 900 CFM in that mode.

And when a membrane has only a few seasons left in it, we say so plainly — then stage the work so you never pay to move an array.

Warehouses and light industrial buildings with broad low-slope roofs are the strongest candidates — the design questions are load capacity and roof age, both of which we evaluate in-house. Commercial Solar Questions
Will an array void our membrane roof warranty?
Not when the attachment details are engineered with the membrane manufacturer’s requirements and documented — which is roofing work, and it’s the part of solar we’ve been doing longest. We coordinate the warranty in writing before installation begins.
Ballasted or attached racking?
Whichever your structure says. Ballasted systems avoid penetrations but add distributed weight; attached systems anchor through the membrane with flashed penetrations. We calculate both against your building rather than defaulting to a habit.
Can you install while we stay open?
Yes — commercial installs are staged and scheduled around your operations, with roof access, staging areas, and daily protection planned with your facilities team in advance.
How long from contract to power-on?
Design and permitting move quickly; the long pole is usually ComEd’s commercial interconnection review, which scales with system size. Your proposal includes a project timeline based on the current queue, not a best-case guess.
