Tesla Solar & Powerwall
We are a Tesla Certified Installer, and Tesla is the one manufacturer on our line card that covers the whole system: the panels or the roof that make the power, the Powerwall that stores it, and the Wall Connector that puts it into the car. That means one app, one warranty conversation, and nobody pointing at another vendor when something needs attention.
It also means the roof and the array are quoted by the same company. We have been installing and repairing Chicagoland roofs since 1975, so before anything goes on your house we check the decking, the flashing, and the service life left underneath.
Tesla’s panels are built to sit low and quiet on the roof, with the mounting hardware and the array edges concealed rather than left standing on exposed rails. That matters more on a house than it does in a catalog photo: every penetration through the deck is somewhere a Chicagoland roof can leak in February, and we flash those the way a roofer flashes them.
Panels are the most established of the three ways onto the roof, they carry the widest range of available incentives, and they are the least expensive place to start. They pair with a Powerwall and report into the same app, so production and storage stay on one screen.
A Powerwall stores what the array makes during the day so the house can spend it after dark, and it carries the house through an outage without anyone walking outside to start a generator. The changeover happens on its own.
That second job is worth more in 2026 than it used to be. ComEd credits exported solar at the supply rate only, so a kilowatt-hour you bank at noon and burn at seven is simply worth more than one you sell. We install the Tesla Powerwall 3, and we retrofit storage onto arrays we did not originally install, including other companies’ work.
Tesla equipment we install includes Solar Panels, Solar Roof, Powerwall 3, and both the Wall Connector and the Universal Wall Connector. Buying the generation, the storage, and the charging from one manufacturer keeps the whole system on a single app and a single support path.

Tesla Solar Roof
When the roof itself should make the power, Tesla Solar Roof replaces the shingles with a mix of energy-producing and matching non-solar tiles, so the finished plane reads as one roof rather than a roof with panels bolted on top of it. It is the right answer when the roof is already due for replacement, when the best solar elevation is the one facing the street, or when the look of conventional panels is the objection.
Because we are both the roofer and the Certified Installer, the tear-off, the underlayment, the flashing, and the solar all happen under one contract and one permit cycle. Our Highland Park project pairs a Tesla Solar Roof with cedar shake on the adjoining elevations.
One App for Production, Storage, and Charging
The Tesla app shows what the roof is producing, what the Powerwall is holding, and what the house is drawing, on one screen and in real time. Ahead of a storm you can tell the battery to hold a higher reserve. During an outage you can watch the changeover and see which circuits stayed live. Add a Wall Connector and the car appears in the same place, so charging can be scheduled for the hours your own production is covering it.
